AMY

Amy Schell grew up in the York Terrace area of Sheffield, Alabama. She graduated from Sheffield High School in 1973. After she graduated, she started working at First Southern Bank as a Mortgage Loan Officer. After meeting Dr. Ryerson at the bank one day 26 years ago, she decided to move to his practice to be his Office Manager. Amy has worked here every since. Amy, not only serves as the Office Manager, she is also a member of the Reception Team and a Team Leader. She is trained in Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards (OSHA), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), CPR, IV Sedation, and Periodontics. Amy also dedicates her time to volunteer for Dentistry from the Heart and has helped every year for 11 years.

She is married to her husband of 18 years and they have two sons, Teddy II and Matthew and one daughter, Courtney. They also have three grandchildren: Chase, Tripp, and McKensie. In her occasional free time Amy enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, reading, and completing Sudoku puzzles. Amy’s personal motto is “Always do the right thing, even when nobody’s watching.”

Tomeka Tubbs | Ryerson & Associates | Dentist | Muscle Shoals AL

TOMEKA

Tomeka Tubbs was born in Cleveland, Mississippi. She moved to Chicago at age 5 and stayed there until she was 15. She moved back to Cleveland for high school, where she graduated from East Side High School. She attended Tougaloo College in Jackson, MS, where she studied business management. She also has a dental assisting certification from Calhoun Community College. Before coming to our practice, Tomeka was an operational manager at Old Navy. She now serves as New Patient Coordinator for Dr. Ryerson and is a part of the reception team. She’s been with us for over 3 years and she’s doing an excellent job. She’s also trained in Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards, CPR, and first aid. Tomeka is exceptionally involved in the community. She’s a dedicated member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, where she serves as administrative assistant. She’s involved with Dentistry from the Heart (4 years), Give a Kid a Chance (1 year), and Veteran’s Day Free Dentistry (1 year).

She’s a member of the parent teacher organization at Hibbett Middle School and a Girl Scout troop leader (7 years). Tomeka has 2 children: Brandon Tubbs, who is a student at Tuskegee University, and Brittney Tubbs, who is a student at Florence Middle School. Tomeka lives by and teaches her children to live by her favorite bible verse, Matthew 7:12. “Do to others what you would have them do to you.” She enjoys meeting new people, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.

FELECIA

Felecia Waddell grew up in Town Creek, Alabama. She went to Lexington High School from 1979-1980 and graduated from Hatton High School in 1982. She continued her education at Northwest Shoals Community College where she graduated with an Associates Degree in Business Administration in 1984. Felecia has always enjoyed working in the dental field and has done it for 26 years. She is a valuable member of our team working as both a Scheduling Coordinator and an Insurance Coordinator. She is also a member of our reception team. Felecia is trained in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and helps every year with Dentistry from the Heart.

Felecia married Scott Waddell in 2016 and couldn’t be any happier. She has three children, Chase, Carley, and Caitlin, and two step children Nikki and Rachael. She also has a grandchild, Caitlin’s daughter, Blakely. Because Felecia has always believed that life is about being happy, staying positive even through your struggles, and having faith in God, she lives her life to the fullest by spending time with her family and friends. Her favorite way to do this is by tailgating at Alabama Football games, traveling, and boating. She also enjoys cooking and gardening.

SHEILA

Shelia Gray, being the daughter of an air force soldier, grew up in Texas, Germany, Colorado, and California. She eventually ended up in the Tennessee Valley and graduated from Lauderdale County High School in 1973. Shelia has been a member of Dr. Ryerson’s staff for 16 years and serves as the Hygiene Coordinator and as a part of the reception team. She is trained in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and CPR. For 11 years Sheila has dedicated her time to help with Ryerson and Associates’ two free dental days, Dentistry from the Heart and Veteran’s Day Free Dentistry. She has been married for 42 years to her husband, Bubba. Shelia and Bubba have two children, Brandon and Cassie, and four grandchildren, Madelyn, Brett, Brooklyn, and Caroline. Shelia has always lived by the golden rule: “Treat others as you want to be treated.” She enjoys spending time with her grandkids, reading, taking Zumba classes, and walking.

Tina Franks | Ryerson & Associates | Dentist | Muscle Shoals AL

TINA

Tina Franks grew up in Taylor, Michigan and graduated from Taylor Center High School in 1983. She then moved to Decatur and attended Calhoun Community College. After graduating from Calhoun, she attended The University of Alabama at Birmingham where she received her Dental Hygiene Degree. Tina has been working with Dr. Ryerson as a hygienist for 23 years. Not only does she work as a hygienist, but she’s also the office’s supply manager and resident plumber! Tina is trained in Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards (OSHA), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), CPR, IV Sedation, and Periodontics. Every year she helps out with Dentistry from the Heart and Veteran’s Day Free Dentistry. Tina has been married to her husband Terry for 25 years and has two boys, Aaron, and Evan. Her older son, Aaron, is married to Carley Martin, the daughter of our Scheduling Coordinator and Insurance Coordinator, Felecia. Her younger son, Evan, is in college and is pursuing a degree in accounting and finance.

Tina had to take a leave of absence recently to fight Breast Cancer. She wants all of her patients to know how very thankful and blessed she has been during this time. The love and support shown by her patients, family, and friends was tremendous and so valuable during such a difficult time in her life. Tina is now cancer free. She likes to spend her free time cooking, gardening, and spending valuable time with her family.

Agnes Moody | Ryerson & Associates | Dentist | Muscle Shoals AL

AGNES

Agnes Moody grew up in St. Florian, Alabama to parents who moved to America from Poland to find jobs after the war. She attended Rogers High School and graduated in 1976. Agnes started working for Dr. McGee as his dental assistant after she graduated. Knowing that her passion was in dental health, she decided to further her dental education by attending the hygiene program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she graduated in 1983. In 1989, Agnes began working with Dr. Ryerson as both a chair side assistant and a hygienist. She is trained in Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards (OSHA), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), CPR, IV Sedation, and Periodontics. Every year, Agnes has dedicated her time to volunteer for Give-a-Kid-a-Chance, Dentistry from the Heart, and Veteran’s Day Free Dentistry. She believes that there is nothing quite like giving back to your community. She has been happily married to her high school sweetheart, Allen Moody, for 39 years. Agnes and Alan have three children: Alana, Audry, and Addam. They also have two adorable pugs: Charlee and Obie. Agnes enjoys spending time with her family, boating, shopping with her girls, and going to church every Sunday. Agnes’s favorite quotes include “We shall never know all the good that a simple smile can do” and “God doesn’t require us to succeed, he only requires that you try.”

THEISA

Theisa Chrisman grew up in Florence, Alabama and graduated from Coffee High School in 1981. During her senior year of high school, she started working at Dr. Lyman Mitchell’s dental office and fell in love with dentistry. This inspired her to study at the University of Alabama at Birmingham to become a dental hygienist. After her graduation from UAB’s hygiene program in 1984, she went back to work with Dr. Mitchell. She continued to work at his office for 17 years until Dr. Mitchell retired. She then moved to a pediatric dentist and worked there for 16 years. Theisa began working with Dr. Ryerson and Dr. Derek in 2014. She is trained in Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards (OSHA), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), CPR, and Periodontics. She also enjoys volunteering for community service events such as Give-a-Kid-a-Chance and Dentistry from the Heart. Theisa has always remembered something her mom told her over and over: treat others as you want to be treated. She has always lived by this and continued

in the footsteps of her mother by teaching it to her son Dylan who is a student at Northwest Shoals Community College studying electrical work. Some of Theisa’s favorite things are gardening, planting flowers, and spending time with her family and friends.

Whitley Suski Little | Ryerson & Associates | Dentist | Muscle Shoals AL

WHITLEY

Whitley Suski Little grew up in Hatton, Alabama and graduated from Hatton High School in 2007. After graduation, Whitley decided to dedicate herself to a dental career. She trained to become a dental assistant and then attended hygiene school at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Whitley has been a valuable staff member here since 2014 and serves as both a hygienist and a dental assistant. She is trained in IV Sedation, Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards (OSHA), Infection Control, CPR, and Periodontics. Whitley also gives back to the community by helping with events like Give-a-Kid-a-Chance, Dentistry from the Heart, Veteran’s Day Free Dentistry, and various church programs. She is recently married to her boyfriend of several years, Casey Little. She and Casey are expecting a baby girl in late July, but for now they have their hands full with their two labs, Trooper and Remi. Whitley’s favorite pastimes include going to church, spending time with her husband, reading books, exercising, spending time outdoors, and playing with her dogs.

Doris Boozer | Ryerson & Associates | Dentist | Muscle Shoals AL

DORIS

Doris Boozer grew up here in Muscle Shoals and graduated in 1978 from Muscle Shoals High School. After high school, Doris took classes in Tampa, Florida to become a dental assistant. She then realized that she wanted to become a hygienist and got her hygiene degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Although she has her dental hygiene degree, she is primarily Dr. Ryerson’s chair side assistant. She has been working with Dr. Ryerson for 26 years and is trained in Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards (OSHA), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), CPR, IV Sedation, and Periodontics. She has also taken an Advanced Cosmetic Course at the Las Vegas Institute. Doris has helped with Dentistry from the Heart every year since Dr. Ryerson started it in 2005. She is happily married to her husband of 36 years, Rick, and they have two sons, Justin and Ryan. Justin has two children, Lily and Easton, and Ryan has one child, Parks. Not only does Doris enjoy spending time with her friends and family, she is also an active member of Woodward Avenue Baptist Church.

Cristina Rutherford | Ryerson & Associates | Dentist | Muscle Shoals AL

CRISTINA

Cristina Rutherford grew up in Blue Springs, Mississippi and Hatton, Alabama and graduated from Hatton High School in 2011. She continued her education at Northwest Shoals Community College and received a degree in Cosmetology. After working as a Cosmetologist for a while, she decided to pursue her other passion, Dentistry, by studying to become a Dental Assistant. After graduating from the North Alabama Dental Assisting Program in 2015, she started her career here at Ryerson & Associates DMD as Dr. Jim Ryerson’s chairside assistant. Cristina is trained in Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards (OSHA), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), CPR, IV Sedation, and Pediatric Oral Sedation. She has assisted with our two free dentistry programs, Dentistry from the Heart and Veteran’s Day Free Dentistry, every year. Cristina has been married to her high school sweetheart, Steadman Rutherford, for three years now and has a baby boy, Chaseton Bennett. Cristina’s favorite way to spend her free time is by working out and spending time with her family and dogs.

Nelly Martinez | Ryerson & Associates | Dentist | Muscle Shoals AL

NELLY

Nelly Martinez grew up in Pasco, Washington. She graduated from Russellville High School in 2004. Before becoming a Dental Assistant, she served as both a Medical Receptionist and a Medical Assistant. Not only does Nelly assist Dr. Ryerson with his dental work, she has also served as the office’s translator for three years now. Nelly is trained in Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards (OSHA), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and CPR. She is involved with many community service projects like Give-a-Kid-a-Chance and Dentistry from the Heart. Nelly has two children, Allison and Kaven, but she’s currently expecting another! Nelly enjoys playing soccer on the weekends and watching her favorite soccer team, Aguilas del America, play. She also enjoys spending time with her children as much as she can. Her favorite activities to do with her children are going to the movies, swimming, and skating.

KAILEY

Kailey Eddy grew up in Rogersville, AL and graduated from Lauderdale County High School in 2012. After high school she decided to further her education by attending Calhoun Community College. She then decided to study to become a Dental Assistant and attended the North Alabama Dental Assisting Program. After her graduation from the program in 2013, she started working with Dr. Weigand as his Dental Assistant here at Ryerson and Associates. Kailey is now taking classes at UAB to become a hygienist. Kailey is trained in Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards (OSHA), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and CPR. Kailey has volunteered for Dentistry from the Heart and Veteran’s Day Free Dentistry every year since she has been with us and enjoys the feeling she gets when she helps others in need. She has one daughter, Paisley, who is 4 years old. Kailey enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

CARLY

Carly Thigpen grew up in Elgin, Alabama and attended Lexington High School until she graduated in 2013. After graduating high school she decided to become a Dental Assistant and studied at the Tennessee Valley School of Dental Assisting. She graduated in 2015. Soon after graduating, Carly began assisting here at Ryerson and Associates for Dr. Weigand. She is trained in Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards (OSHA) and CPR. She has dedicated herself to serving the community by volunteering for events like Dentistry from the Heart and Give-A-Kid-A-Chance. Carly enjoys spending time with her friends and family, playing with her dog, kayaking, and going boating on the river.
